A movable, spring-tensioned bolt features a lever; use your fingernail to push the bolt back to open the clasp. The bolt is held firmly closed by the internal spring. Opening and closing a spring ring requires two hands.
These clasps feature an open top jump ring for easy attachment to a chain end. The jump ring can be twisted to a closed position, but twisting alone is not a secure closure. Do not use torch heat to solder the jump ring closed the internal spring will be damaged by heat. The correct method is to close the jump ring using a laser welder or tack welder.
